Attorney Biography
 

     Paul H. Spaeth has been practicing law for over 25 years, with a focus in the bankruptcy area since 1988. He began practicing bankruptcy law as a staff attorney for the United States Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee in Columbus, Ohio and subsequently went into private practice in 1990 in Dayton, Ohio.  In 1997, Mr. Spaeth opened his law office as a sole practitioner and has been a Chapter 7 panel trustee since that time.   Mr. Spaeth represents Debtors in Chapter 7 and 13 consumer bankruptcy cases, in Chapter 11 business reorganization cases, and he also represents creditors in both consumer and business bankruptcies. He also handles commercial collections, creditors' rights matters and represents clients in probate administration, purchases and sales of businesses and general business matters.

     Mr. Spaeth has served as chairman of the committee of the Dayton Bar Association that focuses upon bankruptcy issues and has lectured at numerous seminars, including  the Midwest Regional Bankruptcy Seminar in Cincinnati, Ohio and the Bench-Bar Conference of the Dayton Bar Association. He currently is a member of the Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He has written articles concerning debtor and creditor rights and bankruptcy. Mr. Spaeth was chosen as  a finalist for a bankruptcy judge position in 2007.    Paul H.
